Kent State Stark Theatre Presents The Marriage of Bette and Boo

Kent State University Stark Campus Theatre presents this season’s first production, The Marriage of Bette and Boo by Christopher Durang. Performances take place at 8 p.m. on September 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15. The matinee performances are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on September 9 and 16.         The Marriage of Bette and Boo is a satirical play that follows the humor, madness and tragedy of the couple’s unsuccessful marriage. North Canton Student Chosen as Research Assistant at Denison University

Denison University junior Albert “Robbie” Christian, son of Rob and Tory Christian of North Canton, has been chosen as a research assistant funded by the Reid and Polly Anderson Scholarship Endowment. Christian and 36 other accomplished Denison science majors spent their summer conducting in-depth research projects in the sciences with faculty members.
This unique summer program, founded in 1986 as part of the Anderson Scholarship Endowment, recognizes outstanding students in the sciences and supports one-on-one faculty research activities. The late Denison Trustee J. Reid Anderson, along with his wife, Polly, established the Anderson Program in the Sciences with a $1 million-plus endowment in 1986. In addition to the summer Anderson Research Assistants, the program includes the Anderson Science Scholarships and the Anderson Lecture Series. Anderson, a 1938 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Denison, was the founder and chief executive of Verbatim Corp., which became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation.
Christian, a 2005 graduate of Hoover High School, is a physics major at Denison and will be working on a project titled “Improving the Quantum Efficiency of photoluminescence from Carbon Nanotubes”.
Denison University, located in Granville, Ohio, was founded in 1831 and is a privately supported, coeducational college of liberal arts and sciences. More than 2,000 full-time undergraduate students represent 47 states and 34 foreign countries.
