It would be hard to find someone who approves of Christmas decorations in department stores and malls appearing alongside back-to-school supplies. For that reason, we feel a little guilty headlining this issue with the North Canton Hometown Holiday when fresh Halloween candy is still brimming from bowls on kitchen counters.
We realize there are several perfectly fine November holidays and events – Election Day, Veteran’s Day, and Thanksgiving to name a few – but we have reason to jump ahead with our coverage this month. Notice that the Hometown Holiday event takes place on December 2. We aim to have Our Town in mailboxes each month by the first couple days of the month. Now you see our dilemma: seemingly early Christmas coverage vs. potentially untimely news. We opted to give our readers time to plan ahead for this bigger and better-than-ever holiday favorite. Note to Buckeye fans: Ohio State vs. Michigan is scheduled for November 17 so the big game will not conflict with the festivities this year.
Back to November: remember to exercise your right to vote in the City of North Canton’s General Election on Tuesday, November 6. We hope you found last month’s special election preview informative and comprehensive. As always, current and back issues of Our Town are available on-line at www.ourtownnorthcanton.com.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our readers!
