“Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work a company work, a society work, a civilization work." --Vince Lombardi
As individuals and as a group, we here at Our Town were both honored and humbled to be recognized by the North Canton Chamber of Commerce with the Community Contribution Award. We proudly accepted the award on behalf of our publisher Jim Dansizen at the annual Chamber Dinner held last month at Walsh University's Barrett Business and Community Center. Jim's vision, openness to new ideas and dedication to our “team” - the graphic/layout artists, correspondents, sales representatives and production crew - is the reason Our Town continues to improve and contribute a quality news source to the North Canton community. We thank the North Canton Chamber and its members for the honor.
Speaking of our team, we've added a new member: Our Town welcomes correspondent Susan Mansfield. Susan will be covering local college happenings in the new feature column Campus Corner. Susan is a 14 year resident of North Canton and the mother of two school age children. She earned a degree in communications from the University of Akron. Malone College, Walsh University, Stark College of Technology and Kent State University – Stark Campus all offer entertainment and resources largely untapped by much of the surrounding community. It's Our Town's goal to make our readers aware of the events so they can reap the benefits of living in a multi-college town.
Finally, we realize that some news is best when fresh. Our web site at www.ourtownnorthcanton.com. is a handy vehicle for Our Town to get breaking North Canton news to our readers in between monthly publications. Please visit the website often and share the site with your out of town friends.
Regards,
