Mayor David Held Speaks to Our Town

The people of the City of North Canton can look forward to the revitalization of the Hoover Facility with the new ownership of the Industrial Realty Group (IRG). This is an exciting time for our city as we continue to bring new businesses and jobs to our city.
 
We have been working very closely with the IRG development partners Stuart Lichter, Chris Semarijian and Bob DeHoff to complete this sale. The Hoover facility will bring a mixed use of industrial, light manufacturing, office space, and retail. This project should take three to five years to complete and is expected to bring over 250 jobs to our city.
As we continue to further diversify the North Canton economy and bring new jobs to our city we are also looking for ways to restructure our city services in order to become operationally more efficient. In order to accomplish this we have been working closely with our city council members to reduce our expenses without compromising our city services. In addition, we have requested a performance review by the State Auditor’s office in order to assist in this process.
 
In closing, I am very excited about the City of North Canton’s future and I have great hope in our ability to rebuild our tax base and our local economy. The rebuilding process can only be accomplished as we continue to work together for the greater good of our community. I will continue to keep you informed with our progress as we continue with our commitment to keep the City of North Canton a strong and safe community.
