Mayor David Held stands with Nan DeMuesy at the Boss Hoover sculpture
|
The City of North Canton has long been recognized as a community that is rich in tradition and service to others. We have numerous memorials throughout our city that recognize those that have come before us in service to our community.
We have the “Boss” Hoover Statue in Bitzer Park, the memorial drinking water fountain outside of City Hall, the North Canton Library Sculpture, the Little League Ball field Harold “Rabbit” Warstler Memorial, and the high diving board and life guard chairs at the Dogwood swimming pool to name a few. All of these memorials have one person in common, Nan DeMuesy.
Nan is a life long resident of North Canton who believes in recognizing others for their service to the community and in the preservation of our heritage. For many years Nan has played a behind the scenes role in service to our community and she continues in her efforts presently.
On August 8, 2007 at 9:00am there will be a dedication ceremony at the South Main St. bridge located just south of Everhard Road. Nan DeMuesy has donated a beautiful plaque that recognizes Herbert W. Hoover for his leadership to the Hoover Company and his service to our community. All of you are welcome to join for this dedication ceremony.
The City of North Canton has many great traditions and activities that have continued year after year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all you that have participated in these activities and have contributed to the North Canton’s “Tradition of Excellence.” A special thanks to Nan DeMuesy for her generosity and service to our community.
Take care and God Bless,
Mayor David Held
