Mayor David Held Speaks to Our Town

Mayor David Held joins with members of City Council and members of our community for the Herbert W. Hoover South Main St Bridge dedication

As summer begins to wind down and our schools have opened their doors for the new school year, we find ourselves once again hosting another exciting and enjoyable evening with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra. This is the 9th year for holding this wonderful event in our City. The Pops Orchestra will perform on the steps of City Hall on Saturday, September 8, at 7:30pm. This is an event that we all look forward to every year. I hope to see you all there.

The sale of the Hoover facility has been a work in progress. Stuart Lichter is a successful national developer based in California who is interested in bringing new life to the Hoover facility. The administration, members of city council, and Governor Ted Strickland’s office are all committed to providing support to this project in order to bring new jobs to the North Canton community. I will continue to keep the people of our community informed as we progress through this process.

In closing, I would like to thank the members of City Council and the people of our community that participated in the Herbert W. Hoover bridge dedication on South Main St. As we continue to recognize those individuals that have went before us we can preserve our heritage and continue with North Canton’s “tradition of excellence.”

Take care and God Bless,

Mayor David Held
